Sr. Developer (Lawson, Cobol, GCP) – Remote
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Developer with expertise in Lawson, Cobol, and GCP to join our team. This is a 6+ month contract position with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software design, development, and integration with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance our Lawson-based systems while helping to drive our cloud migration initiatives. This position offers remote work flexibility, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while working with our distributed team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Lawson Cobol or APIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and discuss design solutions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues
- Modify existing programs to enhance functionality or adapt to new requirements
- Support integration between legacy systems and new cloud-based applications
- Document technical specifications and processes
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing
- Assist in the migration of applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Mentor junior developers as needed
- Provide technical guidance and support to business stakeholders
Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of IT experience with significant exposure to enterprise software development
- Strong expertise in Lawson Cobol programming or Lawson API development
- Experience with software design, development, and integration in enterprise environments
- Proficiency in database management and SQL
- Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment
Preferred:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Knowledge of cloud migration strategies and best practices
- Familiarity with modern development tools and practices
- Experience with API integration and web services
- Understanding of ERP systems and business processes
- Previous remote work experience
